Enterprise Multi-Tenant Project Management Suite (Jira-style)
A full enterprise-grade project management suite with boards, sprints, permissions, and multi-tenant billing -- built to production standards.
Project management tools such as Jira serve thousands of organizations from one system, which raises hard engineering questions: how to keep every organization's data separate, how to give each person the right permissions and how to update boards for everyone in real time. This project builds an enterprise-grade, multi-tenant project management suite to production standards.
The system is a TypeScript monorepo with a Next.js front end and modular back-end packages, backed by PostgreSQL. Each organization is a tenant, and every query is scoped to it, with role-based access control at organization, project and board level. Users manage boards, issues, sprints and backlogs, and changes are pushed to everyone viewing a board through WebSockets, with optimistic updates that feel instant. Sprint analytics show velocity and burn-down charts. Subscription billing with Stripe-style plans, invoices and usage limits is included, along with webhooks that keep billing state in sync. The project covers automated tests, database migrations, audit logs and performance under many tenants.
You will learn multi-tenant design, access control, real-time updates, billing integration and monorepo organization. The Project Reference Guide documents the architecture and the decisions, and the Reference Implementation contains the full application with set-up steps.
