Multi-Cloud Cost-Optimization and Governance Platform

A platform that tracks cloud spend across multiple providers and automatically flags or remediates waste.

Cloud bills are one of the fastest-growing costs in technology companies, and using several providers makes them harder to understand: idle servers, forgotten storage and oversized instances quietly waste a large share of spending. This project builds a platform that tracks spending across cloud providers and finds and fixes waste automatically.

The platform collects billing and usage data from AWS and Azure through their billing APIs, normalizes the different formats into one model and stores it for analysis. Anomaly detection learns each service's normal spending pattern and raises an alert when a cost suddenly jumps, for example after a misconfigured job. Policies written as code define what is not allowed, such as untagged resources, unattached disks or oversized development machines, and are checked continuously. When a policy is broken, an automated remediation workflow can notify the owner, schedule a shutdown or resize a resource after approval, always with an audit trail. Terraform provisions the platform itself, and Grafana dashboards show spend by team, project and provider, with savings achieved.

You will learn cloud billing data, anomaly detection, policy as code and safe automation. The Project Reference Guide is a thesis-grade cloud governance document, and the Reference Implementation contains the collectors, policy engine, remediation workflows and dashboards.
